Our heritage

A century of living history

At first glance, the Victorian architecture of the Villa Cécilia, built in 1901, is a living trace of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield's past. Since 2020, a group of passionate entrepreneurs has carried on the adventure, driven by the desire to make this landmark shine.

  1. 1901

    Construction of the Villa Cécilia, a Victorian house on the Beauharnois Canal.

  2. 1930

    Lucien Faubert creates the Valleyfield Tourist Club Enr. in the villa.

  3. 1957–1990

    Marcel Lauzon runs the restaurant Le Club Touriste for more than three decades.

  4. 2009

    Michel Levasseur brings the place back to life with its current décor.

  5. 2020

    A group of entrepreneurs, already running the McBroue pub, acquires the property.

  6. 2025

    Three of the partners carry on, evolving the Club Touriste while respecting its history.
